Dust collector blast gate wiring with micro switches 02222020, 0237 pm i watched the following video of a gentleman who created a control box for his dust collector that has micro switches at each blast gate and when a gate is opened, the collector turns on and when closed, it turns off.

I have a 220v 2hp bag dust collector. We are selling for an elderly neighbor that recently went into assisted living. He used it for hobby use in his garage. It turned on and functioned as is should when we before we un hooked it.My boyfriend thought he would use it but we dont have the right wiring so its up for sale.

Wiring your shop. So, youve added a table saw and a dust collector to your collection of large stationary tools.Youre happy with your purchases and are making more and more wooden projects. In fact, its going so well that you are now thinking of buying more equipment.Unfortunately, your present electrical system will not handle the load.
I agree with john, i put a subpanel in my garage.I have 3220v outlets, direct for 3 tools, my tablesaw, my dust collector and my planer.I have 4 outlets on each side of my garage, total of eight, i have 4 on one breaker and 4 on another, each breaker at 20 amps.
With a dedicated supply to the garage and a seperate circuit breakerconsumer unit.I have produced a plan which shows all the rings i require and where the sockets and switches should go.I want one lighting ring, one socket ring and then two dedicated higher amp rings for a table saw and dust collector.
Installing a dust collection system.By april wilkerson on september 12, 2018.The last run to make was the line to my table saw, which required the trunk to be suspended in the air so that it would stay inline with the main trunk against the wall.So cody removed the wall panel to run the wiring needed, shimmied it back into position.
122 will carry up to 20 amps, so that would be plenty.Obviously 102 allows for upgrading to a 5 horse or to run a dust collector off the same circuit. The consensus around here seems to be to over wire everything.Nothing wrong with that, but no real advantage either if the circuit is dedicated for the saw.
Small garage workshops gather dust and dirt quickly, but many dust collection systems are too costly or large to install in smaller shops.A secondary option is to build your own dust collection.
When hes band sawing, travis hooks the dust collector hose to a reducer mounted on the saws lower cover. The saws factory dust port doesnt work very well.I was always sneezing through dust storms when sawing and then still had sweeping to do.With a metalcutting blade in my saber saw, it was super easy to cut out the reducer hole.
I purchased my new ts as 220 since i only have a 40a subpanel feeding my garageshop.Since the ts uses about 12 the amps as 110 i figure i have less load on the panel along with leaving extra amps for running a dc along with lights and heat.I have considered wiring the dc 220 if i add airconditioning to the shopgarage.
I have a dewalt table saw, cutech 8 jointer, cutech planer, delta drill press, delta miter saw, california air tools 4.6 gallon air compressor, and numerous hand tools. It was a challenge.Ive now got a 100a panel wired to the garage with 5 gfci.
