I have an indesit is60v tumble dryer. It has recently started making a grinding noise from the rear.I have taken the casing off and the drum didnt seem to be catching the rear panel. The dryer.
Their purpose is to separate clothes to prevent them from bunching up when they tumble dry. However, as shoes turn in the drum, the baffles can cause them to hit the sides of the drum wall especially hard and produce a loud thumping noise.Dont dry shoes in your household dryer either let them airdry or take them to a laundromat.
If your dryer is making a loud screeching noise it may be due to several things. When the blower fan blade becomes damaged it will create a rattling or banging noise. If this is the issue you will need to replace the part. These parts are found inside the dryers drum and are required to help the clothes tumble in the dryer.
Sometimes a thump or a bang in your dryer drum comes from the baffles that are meant to lift your clothes as they tumble inside the drum. There could be debris or pocket change stuck under a baffle, making noise.Or one of the baffles themselves could have gotten loose.Baffles can be fixed or switched out for new ones if this happens.
After that, you will be able to remove the back panel and then extract the tumble dryer drum out of the machine, you will then be able to rebuild the bearing assembly making sure to put some electrical insulation grease on the tab.I have also included a load of tumble dryer videos below to assist you in other repairs in the future.
